Two special concerts will take place in Hanoi for Capital Liberation Day

On October 9 and 10, two special music and art programs dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of the capital will take place in Hanoi. Both events will be held at Ho Guom Opera and will be part of the cultural program marking the memorable date of October 10, 1954. The concert on October 9 at 20:00 will be open to the general public. The Sun Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Olivier Ochanine, will perform on stage. Special guests will be renowned pianist Boris Giltburg and cellist Phan Do Phuc.

The evening’s program will combine Vietnamese and world classical music. Works dedicated to Hanoi will be performed, including music by Hoang Duong and Trinh Cong Son, as well as Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and excerpts from Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet Romeo and Juliet.

The concert will take place at Ho Guom Opera, 40–40A Hàng Bài. Tickets are sold at prices of 500,000, 700,000, 1 million, and 2 million VND.

The main event of the festive program will be Hanoi Symphony, which will take place on October 10. This is a special event dedicated directly to the anniversary of Hanoi’s liberation. The program consists of three parts and tells the story of the capital through music and stage art — from the events of autumn 1954 to modern-day Hanoi.

In Hanoi Symphony, classical music will be combined with well-known Vietnamese works and contemporary stage solutions. Unlike the October 9 concert, the October 10 program is not announced as an event with open ticket sales for the general public.
