The Vienna Chamber Orchestra will give two concerts in Hanoi on November 7 and 8
Classical music lovers in Hanoi are in for two evenings with one of Europe’s renowned orchestras. On November 7 and 8, 2026, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra will perform at Ho Guom Opera with the festive program The Vienna Concert 2026, dedicated to the ensemble’s 80th anniversary.
Founded in 1946 in Austria, the orchestra is known for performing works from the classical and romantic repertoire. Over eight decades, the ensemble has appeared at international concert venues, collaborated with renowned conductors and soloists, and taken part in music festivals.
The Hanoi concert program will include works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Strauss, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Richard Wagner, and Gioachino Rossini.
A special place will be given to contemporary compositions by Alma Deutscher — the British pianist, violinist, composer, and conductor. Her work combines the traditions of European classical music with her own compositional style.
For Vietnamese audiences, performances by the Vienna Chamber Orchestra are already becoming a tradition. The ensemble is coming to Vietnam for the third consecutive year: previous concerts took place in 2024 and 2025.
The new program will allow listeners to become acquainted with music from different eras — from Viennese classics to 19th-century romantic works and contemporary compositions. This combination makes the concerts interesting both for regular attendees of philharmonic performances and for those who are just beginning to discover classical music.
The venue will be Ho Guom Opera — a modern opera house in central Hanoi, located not far from Hoan Kiem Lake. The venue regularly hosts international musical ensembles, symphonic concerts, and other cultural events.
